Easy Trick to Increase Your Blog Traffic for Free (2019)

If you’re a new blogger, chances are you still don’t have a good grasp of Keyword research or researching for high traffic potential articles.

This article was created to solve “Traffic as an Issue” at least until you have a solid keyword research knowledge.

One thing I’ve learned from successful bloggers is that they always spend tons of money on tools before they start writing.

Truth is, not everyone can afford an AHREF subscription.

In this article, am going to give you a tested and working trick for increasing your Blog’s traffic by almost 50 – 200% just from writing a few new articles.

No Keyword Research required and absolutely free.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR BLOG’S TRAFFIC FOR FREE

As a blogger in any niche, you always have other blogs in mind which are already successful in your niche.

These blogs are called “COMPETITORS”, now in this article am going to explain how you can totally steal your competitor’s traffic via a free online tool.

This tool allows you to scan a site and it gives you the exact article that is bringing in most of the traffic a site gets.

This tool is easy and straight forward to use.

HOW TO USE FREE ALEXA SITE INFO TOOL TO STEAL COMPETITOR’S TRAFFIC

  1. List out the URLs of your competitors
  2. Visit Alexa.com/siteinfo and input URL subsequently
  3. View the Top Keywords  Tab & Visit Url to Fish out Articles

List out the URLs of your competitors

As a blog owner in any niche, you should be well aware of your competitors writing similar articles & competing for your audience.

If you have no idea who your blog’s competitors are and would like to find out then follow these steps below:

  1. Copy the title of the best article on your blog & search for it on Google
  2. Note Down the first 6 -7 Blog Urls you come across

All your Blog's competitor on google search

Those Blogs Url’s are probably your competitors, you can cross-check by visiting these sites and analyzing their content.

Once you have a list of your blog’s competitor’s URLs, then you can now move to the next phase.

Visit Alexa.com/siteinfo and input URL subsequently

Alexa is an online Website analysis tool that helps with keyword research, traffic analysis, etc.

They also give rank based on your overall traffic.

Now, Alexa has a paid plan (Very Powerful) but for this tutorial, we would only be needing the free version.

No doubt, Alexa gives so many stats but we only need one tab from all it offers.

To effectively explain this step, am going to using a random Blog’s Url for explanation purposes.

Let’s say;

informationhive.com.ng

It’s straight forward, just type in your Browser “https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/informationhive.com.ng”

You’ll be presented with this layout

HOW TO USE FREE ALEXA SITE INFO TOOL TO STEAL COMPETITOR'S TRAFFIC

The only information we need to steal our competitor’s major source of the traffic to increase our is the TOP KEYWORDS TAB

If you noticed, the free Alexa plan only allows you to see the top 4 keywords that bring in traffic.

Not to worry because the first 4 keywords usually bring in more than 40% of every site’s traffic.

For our current example, we got the following keywords as a result.

how to start a blog in nigeria
money market in nigeria
how to make liquid soap in nigeria
liquid starch
food stuff business

I’ll show you how to fish out the exact articles for these keywords alone from your competitor’s site in the next step.

How to Find High Traffic Articles From Your Blog Competitor’s Website – 3RD STEP

The third and final step is also straightforward but might prove tricky for some competitor’s blog.

There are two ways of finding High Traffic Articles on Competitor’s Blog

  1. Blog SearchBar Method
  2. Google Site Search Method

Blog SearchBar Method

This method is to be used if and only if the Competitor’s blog features a Searchbar.

You simply visit the site (in my case “Informationhive.com.ng“), locate the search bar and enter any of the keywords we researched via Alexa in step 2.

Once you search for the keyword, you will see a minimum of 1 article as a result.

This single article ( or multiple articles as the case may be) is responsible for the crazy percentage of traffic detected on Alexa.

To find the remaining articles, we simply repeat the process over and over until we have a list of articles we are sure would bring traffic in.

Google Site Search Method

HOW TO USE GOOGLE SITE SEARCH TO FIND ARTICLES

Now, some competitor blogs intentionally remove their Search bar to protect competitors from finding those articles easily.

That’s where Google Site search comes in.

To search within only one site for Articles with keywords from Alexa (Step 2)

simply visit Google.com and search in this format

Site:Websitename.com KEYWORD YOU WANT TO FIND ARTICLES FOR

HOW TO USE GOOGLE SITE SEARCH TO FIND ARTICLES

The first article you come across is normally the main traffic source for that keyword, sometimes the next 2 – 3 would also contribute to the traffic also.

So, after you have researched and gotten a comprehensive list of all the articles you need to write, the next thing to do is to actually write.

This may sound simple but it’s not, it’s one thing to write an article and it’s another to write an article that outranks another.

You pick an article, analyze it and then write a better one. If the article is not in-depth enough, you can do more research and write yours to give more expert insights.

If you would like to learn effectively how to write articles that can outrank the competitor’s version then this Article by AHFAZ AHMED will help with that.

Conclusion

There are a lot of other ways in which you can increase traffic on your site, some are paid (Ahref) and others complicated (Keyword Research).

With this, even if you’re just starting out you should be able to compete with any blogger any day.

Keep in mind DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE SAME ARTICLE as this will only get your Blog in trouble and potentially get your articles de-indexed from Google.
