Exportation Business in Nigeria (How to Start & Make Money)

Do you wish to start exportation business in Nigeria? You wanna know what it takes ti start? Good, you’re in a right place?

Alot of us have gone to school for years and yet have not been able to use what they have learnt to make millions, AM ONLY ASKING FOR JUST 45MIN OR LESS OF UNDIVIDED ATTENTION to learn what can make you millions.

Let me get straight to the point on exportation business in Nigeria!

Exportation Business in Nigeria

Many of us here have relatives in different parts of the world as a matter of fact, there are over 30M Nigerians in diaspora.

And the interesting thing is that anywhere a Nigerian is, He or she would always want to eat our naija made food.

And you know that, food is a daily basic need of man. So have you ever thought of how our Naija food get to them?????

Big question…. Simple Answer…

Export Business!!!

WHY FOODSTUFF EXPORT IS A GOLDMINE

There is nothing that can stop a man that understand the beauty of starting something he has passion for.

Few days ago I was told that between 2015 to 2017 there was significant increase in the number of Nigerian migrating to Europe, Americas etc

According to the Global survey on diaspora about 18 percent of Nigeria are in other countries of the world , in this , Europe and America account for about 10% of this statistic.

As at 2016 alone over 120,000 Nigerian migrated to Western Europe.

And now many people are living Nigeria because of the economy etc

Why this talks?

Well, you will understand afterward why this talks….

I love putting my business mind into play.

Listen, Nigerian are very interesting people who like to enjoy themselves no matter what the situation is.

A yoruba man can pay anything to get Amala and Ewedu soup anywhere he is. This is true!

What of an Igbo Man or others?

The idea is how many Tonnes of Garri is consumed everyday by these Nigerians in diaspora?

An export survey group did little analysis and it was very disturbing.

From the Nigeria foodstuffs ie. Garri, Egusi, Ogbono, Palm oil, Cryfish, Snail, Catfish etc exported to these Nigerians in diaspora, 80% of it is been marketed and imported and even exported by Ghanaian, Cameroonians and Pakistani.

The question is why? Well, it is because Nigerian takes things for granted..

Some months ago I had an order for a student who was into yam business here in Nigeria to export yam to the UK by an off takers after preliminary negotiation the Pakistani off takers with a large retail outlet in the city of London refused after enough persuasion with my partners in UK…

He later admitted that he prefers Ghana yam which is PUNA yam.

it was not funny because I am aware that Ghanian come over to Nigeria precisely Niger state to get this breeds of yam.

They make it look like they own the species.

please don’t ask why?

I will answer you before you ask.

The reason for this, is that we are slow to take action but rather too dependant on the government.

The export business is open for all.

Reasons why you should start exportation business in Nigeria:

  • It is affordable.
  • It is less risky when you get d right training.
  • It is fast.

Let me give you a little story..

A cup of melon in Nigeria I mean the milk cup is about N200 (sometimes it’s less abi).

Do you know what the same cup in Germany is? it cost at the retails shops for 4euro ..and that is N1600+ current exchange rate.

That mean if you get 1000 cups which is just about 2 tons there. You would have earn 4000 euro (multiply it in Naira and it will give you some millions)

please don’t ask me what about the cost of shipment and other procedure well, this is an Agricultural produces

In the Nigeria Export promotion council, it is on an easier documentation list. It doesn’t need much documentations.

It is less weighty and won’t take your tonnages at the ports..

I am surprise why Nigerian are leaving this GOLDMINE to our Neighboring countries to explore.

Why?

Nigeria has the largest numbers of people from? Africa in the Diaspora.
We should take our foodstuffs to them and stop this trade theft by others…

Let’s get to work on exportation business in Nigeria.

LET ME GIVE YOU SOME PROFIT ILLUSTRATION TO HELP YOU SEE THE POTENTIAL IN THIS BUSINESS.

Let Me Use One Product For Example And Do An Analysis For You To See The Profit

1 Kg Ginger that you will buy for 500 (less than 350 set) Naira in Nigeria is sold for $19 to $21 in Intl market (That’s about 6840 to 7560 Naira)

So let’s assume

You buy 20 Kg of ginger for 500 per kg

That’s 500 * 20 = 10,000

And you now sell this 20Kg for $20 per kg

That $20 X 20 X 360

= $400 * 360 144,000

So let’s assume

You use another 20,000 for freight, transportation to Lagos etc

That means your expenses is like 40,000

So you can guess what the profit is

The same applies to bitter kola, honey, charcoal, palm oil, palm kernel shell, okro, ofada rice, cassava, dogon yaro seeds and over 50 things you can export to other parts of the world

The profits are amazing!

As a matter of fact, 1 bitter kola that you buy here in Nigeria for less than #10 was sold for €1 (1 Euros in Germany a few years back)

All you need is just 2 orders Monthly and you are sure of deep pocket. 😋😋

Decide what you want to export, don’t try to export everything.

Research and find out those items/commodities that are in high demand and also profitable in the international market.

You can start with one or at most 3-5 items/commodities.

STEP: 2

Start generating orders, getting serious clients through;

B2B platforms
Your website/blog

Etc…….

You don’t need to have the products on ground first especially when it concerns perishable commodities.

3rd STEP

Source for the products / contract out the order and get commission.

Source for the products at the best places and at the lowest possible prices or you can act as a broker by partnering with an export company for commissions.

You can choose the second option if you don’t have the startup capital but the first option is better because you can have a good relationship with your buyers which can result in constant and repeated businesses.

STEP 4

PACKAGING.

You have to package the commodities according to the specifications of the buyer and in line with the acceptable standards of the receiving country.

STEP 5

TRANSPORTATION; EXPORT YOUR PRODUCTS.

You have to know that it is the order that will determine the means of transportation.

DON’T just work any logistics company, choose and work with the ones with good track record and the best way to get good companies is through RECOMMENDATION.

STEP 6

RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT.
You have to be wise to choose the best payments terms and means so as to avoid super stories.

How do I get paid?
